Andrew joined An Garda Síochána from the Central Statistics Office where he was an Assistant Director General and Chief Information Officer. Prior to that he worked for Citigroup as CIO of Citibank Europe, Microsoft and IONA Technologies.
Andrew has overall responsibility for data and technology in An Garda Síochána. His role as CIO incorporates that of Chief Data Officer. For the past four years he has led the biggest digitalisation programme in the public sector delivering on our vision of Information Led Policing. Over the last 6 months, this includes the lifting of the CSO reservation on Garda data quality, a national computer aided dispatch system and a large scale pilot of body worn cameras and digital evidence management.
Andrew holds degrees in Computer Science, Engineering Management and Statistics from Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.
