Jason Barry

Jason (Jay) Barry is Chief Digital Engineer at PTSB, an Irish retail bank, where he leads the engineering function behind the bank’s digital banking and real-time payments platforms. His remit covers engineering strategy, platform delivery, operational resilience, and the evolution of the digital operating models.
His career spans more than twenty-five years across financial services, fintech, consulting, and corporate technology in Ireland and Australia. He was previously Chief Technology Officer at Bluestone, an Australian non-bank lender, and Chief Digital and Innovation Officer at Nimble Australia, where he led the build of the group’s digital lending and credit decisioning platforms. Earlier roles include Principal Consultant at Thoughtworks and senior technology positions at Transurban. His technical background remains close to the surface, with deep working knowledge of Domain-Driven Design, data architecture, and cloud-native engineering.
