Sabahat Khan is a highly experienced and forward-thinking technology executive with over three decades of leadership across public and private sectors, specialising in digital transformation, cybersecurity, IT strategy, and operational excellence. He currently serves as Chief Information Officer and Assistant Chief Executive at the Local Government Management Agency (LGMA) in Ireland. In this role, he is responsible for shaping and delivering the Local Government Digital and ICT Strategy 2030, collaborating with all 31 Irish local authorities to drive sector-wide digital reform. He has led the establishment of Ireland’s first National Security Operations Centre (SOC) and is playing a key role in developing a national cybersecurity framework in partnership with the European Union. His remit also includes overseeing ethical AI policy development, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding performance-driven practices across government services.
Prior to joining LGMA, Sabahat held senior leadership roles at major global institutions including the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), Moody’s, and Citi. At DTCC, he spent nearly two decades leading enterprise IT strategy, regulatory engagement, and large-scale infrastructure programmes, earning recognition such as the Chairman’s Quality Award. He has also been a prominent advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry, actively mentoring through programmes like Girls Who Code and leading internal development initiatives.
